The tragic fires in Victoria, Australia have left hundreds dead, thousands of people without a home. Hundreds saw these deadly fires close up and thought they were going to die, thought friends or relatives had died or saw the dead after the fires past.

Such pain and shock always causes high levels of anxiety, and often later results in depression, anger, lack of focus, panic attacks and emotional "meltdown". Often flashbacks of the events can occur regularly, as do nightmares.

The common term for the worst of these conditions is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Sometimes it comes on immediately, sometimes months after the event. Suffering from such disorders does not mean you are weak..... it's just a way your mind has used to try to protect you. Unfortunately it does not understand that it has placed the victim in a living hell. Facing death in a fire is no different to facing death in a war zone.

Don't try to deal with this on your own. Is requires special understanding of the underlying causes and methods of neutralising the patterns your mind is using. We specialise in that work. The earlier you deal with it the less effect it will have on you.

So if were involved in these fires directly or as an emergency services worker or Police and you are having flashbacks, nightmares or mood swings, call us.
