Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
and Combat Related Stress
IMPORTANT NOTICE: In honor of our war Veterans, if
you suffer from these frightening problems we will help you and your
families at greatly reduced rate. We want to help, and we can.
There is a solution
To those affected by PTSD it often seems like the devil has
dropped in for dinner and stayed as a permanent boarder. Standard techniques of
dealing with it often seem very limited in their effectiveness and it causes
extreme pain for both its victim and their family and friends. The feelings of
dissociation, panic, being out of control and the deep deep depression seem to
make life hopeless. And it seems to last forever. But there are ways to fix the
problem.
I am not going to waste time going into
the history of PTSD. If you suffer its effects you are only interested in
how to fix it. It doesn’t matter if the trauma is war, rape, and accident of
a life threatening disease, the problem, and the solution, are the same.
There is a common base with all the
cases of PTSD I have dealt with: every client has had a long history of
elevated anxiety prior to the triggering traumatic event. This is why some
people can go through exactly the same trauma and have few or no adverse
effects, yet your mind and body reacted in the way it has. It has nothing to
do with weakness on your part. It has everything to do with your life time
of environment and unconscious learning.
The great thing about this recognition
is that we can fix the problem – forever.
Your mind does not mean to cause you
harm. Even with the anxiety, depression, flashbacks, insomnia and withdrawal
from life, your unconscious mind believes it is protecting you! Of course
you and I know consciously that that is just plainly wrong, but your
unconscious mind has not YET been given the skills and understanding to do
differently. We can fix that by concentrating only on HOW your mind is
creating the symptoms, not why. Your unconscious mind communicates
with you in a specific fashion. Once we know how it does it we can
use that to give it better management skills to support and protect you. You
may be staggered at how easy it is. I regularly take phobias out within 5
minutes to 20 minutes, never to return again.
The other component of all symptoms of
high anxiety levels and reactive conditioning is that it changes the body’s
chemistry over time. Virtually 100% of my clients over 20 years of deep
stress management work suffer from a biochemical imbalance known as
hypoglycemia. Other nutritional deficiencies also cause problems and can be
easily fixed, but the hypoglycemia often drives you to binge eating of sweet
foods or drinking sweet drinks or alcohol. These foods and drinks make you
feel better in the short term but the craving returns, so you take more. In
doing so, the anxiety, depression and anger levels increase.
Taking care of the biochemical imbalance
is just as important as teaching your unconscious memory system new, more
powerful strategies than giving you and your family hell.
So how do we fix this nightmare? Take a
look at the free resources relating to stress causes at
http://www.gmfint.com/life_resources.htm to get a basic understanding of
the underlying issues, both stressors and the biochemical issues that are
affecting your life. Then make sure your psychotherapist or counselor is
aware of this approach. We are happy to provide support for your own
counselor or talk to you directly.
Please take part in our research project
to identify better ways of treating PTSD and Panic Disorders so we can help
you and you can help thousands of other in your shoes. This research is for
sufferers and relatives or friends of those who have these disorders.
