Step lightly in NOW
In the rush of modern life it is sometimes easy to forget
the need to find peace in a hectic environment. Our inner turmoil is often
externalized in our rushed and noisy physical activity.
Try this.
Be mindful of silence.
Whilst creating silence in a noisy world is almost
impossible, be mindful of making the least amount of impact on the
environment. What I mean by this is, try to make the least amount of noise
possible, when you walk, talk, close doors and draws, washing the dishes.
And impact your environment the least possible. Be gentle, move slowly. Walk
quietly with soft shoes and spend time in NOW by focusing on what you are
doing in this moment in time. f you are washing the dishes focus on the
dishes, the water, the warmth. If you are walking, focus on your steps and
step lightly.
Being mindful of your actions and creating silence in a
noisy world will tell your unconscious mind to rest and be peaceful. By
being mindful you are in reality in meditation all the time. No invasive
thoughts from the past. No reflection on the future. Just YOU in NOW.
In this you may have peace.
